Vodafone R230 -- Successor to R226

The Vodafone R230 is the successor to the Vodafone R226 LTE hotspot in the product range. Improved mainly the maximum downlink speed in the LTE network, further improvements are minimal or barely noticeable.

Vodafone R230: Fast LTE modem

The Qualcomm Snapdragon X12 LTE chipset in the Vodafone R230 hotspot can technically reach up to 450 MBit/s in the downlink and up to 50 MBit/s in the uplink, but Vodafone Germany only advertises the device with a maximum download speed of 375 MBit/s. The following LTE frequency ranges are supported: 800 MHz, 1400 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz and 2600 MHz.

Of course, the Vodafone R230 router can also support UMTS/3G and GSM/2G networks, in the UMTS network, up to 42.2 MBit/s in the downlink and up to 5.76 MBit/s in the uplink are reachable. In the UMTS network, the bands are supported by 850, 900, 1900 and 2100 MHz, in the GSM network the bands can be used at 850, 900, 1800 and 1900MHz.

Vodafone R230: WLAN and other technology

On the front of Vodafone R230, you will find a small color display, on which the most important information about the Internet connection and device status are displayed. These include, for example: reception status, mobile phone technology, WLAN status and used data volume. On the side of the R230 MiFi, in addition to the USB port for charging the battery, there is also the slot for the SIM card as well as two connections for an external antenna. On the other hand, there is a power button and a function button. The battery has a capacity of about 2,200 mAh and is not changeable, according to Vodafone, the R230 provides an operating time of about 10 hours.

The WLAN works both on the 2.4 GHz frequency band and in the 5 GHz frequency range. The WLAN standards 802.11b/g/n/ac are supported, ie the fast LTE Internet connection should also arrive at full power at a connected terminal. As an alternative to WLAN, a USB 3.0 port can be used. The approximately 105 gram is very light, which makes it very easy to take in hand or pocket.

Vodafone R230 Availability The Vodafone R230 LTE hotspot comes pre-installed with Vodafone software and is offered by Vodafone in conjunction with the DataGo data plans. It's a customized hotspot from the ZTE MF980 4g mobile hotspot. We can provide the unlocked Vodafone R230 without the data plan. You can get unlocked R230 and use it with any network providers’ SIM cards in Europe. The unlocked Vodafone R230 would soon be available on www.4gltemall.com. We will keep updating the news. If you prefer the pure R230 without Vodafone customization, you can choose the factory model ZTE MF980 UFi, which has same specifications and functions.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro New Smartphone Test

Smartphones with large display and minimal edges are in vogue, Samsung has shown its Galaxy S8 with "Infinity Display" in the spring, Apple has recently launched its iPhone X and Huawei has the Mate 10 Pro now with large display and little rand on offer. But the Mate 10 Pro not only looks good, it also offers advanced technology with a chipset that will perform certain tasks much faster than previously known due to AI technology, which is the first time available in a smartphone. There are also dual SIM with LTE on both SIM cards in a single smartphone and an arrow-fast LTE Advanced Pro Cat18 modem for speeds of more than 1 Gbit/s in the LTE network. In the following test, we will check the features of the Huawei mate 10 Pro with advanced technology and chipset.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro: Design & Display

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro is made with an approximately 6-inch AMOLED display in 18: 9 format. The display has a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels, in the test, the presentation was very sharp and in terms of color and brightness, there was no reason to complain. OLED typical, the black value is extremely good, but the display is not particularly color stable at an oblique angle. The Huawei Mate 10 Pro has opted for a glass body. It is certainly a matter of taste, but personally I find a metal case still much more pleasant, even if the glass case without question has a higher quality and visually more powerful than the metal case of its predecessor Huawei Mate 9. Due to the nearly borderless display in 18: 9 format, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro is good in the hand, but a one-handed operation is still only with very large hands or with the help of the one-hand zoom mode. For the target group of the Huawei Mate 10 Pro, the one-hand operation is unlikely to be relevant anyway.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro: Kirin 970 chipset

At the heart of the Huawei Mate 10 Pro is the new HiSilicon Kirin 970 chipset. The octa-core processor is not only faster and uses less energy than its predecessor; it can also be used for the first time on AI support. The so-called "Neural Processing Unit", NPU for short, is intended to massively accelerate certain applications such as image recognition. Unfortunately this could not be tested in the test, because applications that use the NPU are still in short supply. With the camera app to use the NPU, the difference to other current smartphones is not quite noticeable. Probably the future has to show, whether the Mate 10 Pro will have a big lead by the NPU or not.

Incidentally, the internal memory of the Huawei Mate 10 is 128 gigabytes in size, whereby only slightly more than 108 GB can be used by pre-installed software. Personally, I think the size of the memory is sufficient, but many users would have liked something more with such an expensive high-end smartphone. Unfortunately, Huawei has no memory expansion option built-in, i.e a microSD card cannot be used. That is incomprehensible…

Huawei Mate 10 Pro: LTE modem

With the LTE modem of HiSilicon Kirin 970 chipset, Huawei has made great progress compared to the Mate 9. Not only is the maximum data rate of 1.2 Gigabit/s in the download extremely fast, but the device can be used in a much more countries than its predecessor by a significantly extended frequency band support. In detail, the following frequency ranges are supported:

  • LTE (FDD): B1 / B2 / B3 / B4 / B5 / B6 / B7 / B8 / B9 / B12 / B17 / B18 / B19 / B20 / B26 / B28 / B32
  • LTE (TDD): B34 / B38 / B39 / B40 / B41 (2545 ~ 2655MHz)
  • UMTS (3G): B1 / B2 / B4 / B5 / B6 / B8 / B19
  • GSM (2G): 850/900/1800/1900

The modem supports LTE Cat18 and can also bundle up to 5 frequency bands via carrier aggregation in addition to 4 × 4 MIMO antenna technology. In the downlink the 256QAM modulation is supported in the LTE network, up to 64QAM are possible in the uplink. Even if only 2 × 2 MIMO antenna technology is available and no frequency bands can be bundled, data rates of up to 200 MBit/s in the downlink and up to 75 MBit/s in the uplink can be achieved. Regarding the dual-SIM feature, the Huawei Mate 10 offers a world first: for the first time, a device supports LTE on both SIM cards slots simultaneously. For example, you can use the Mate 10 Pro as a mobile LTE/WLAN hotspot and at the same time make calls to the device via VoLTE.

In the test, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro's modem made a good impression: data connections were very fast and the reception was very good both in the UMTS network and in the LTE network. Also Wi-Fi speed and quality reception were good, especially the Wi-Fi amplifier or Wi-Fi bridge function liked. This allows you to use an existing Wi-Fi network as an Internet connection and pass it on to other devices via a Wi-Fi hotspot under a "new name".

Huawei Mate 10 Pro Camera

Not all details of the Huawei Mate 10 Pro are considered in this review, but the Leica dual camera on the Mate 10 Pro definitely deserves a separate section. The camera makes very good quality images and can of course make good shots at night, as you would expect from a current high-end smartphone. The image quality is ensured by a 20 megapixel black and white camera and a 12 megapixel color camera on the back, both with f1.6 aperture.

According to Huawei, the NPU (ie the AI unit of the processor) is also used for the camera; in automatic mode, subjects should be detected more quickly. In practice, however, this is hardly noticeable, as a result, other current top smartphones like the Apple iPhone 8 make at least equally good pictures, even without explicit motif recognition. But according to Huawei, the NPU "learns" over time.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro Test: Conclusion

This review does not cover all facts of the Mate 10 Pro, but after the extensive test, the following conclusion remains: With the Mate 10 Pro, Huawei has a very good smartphone in the range. It offers a chic design, a very good camera and very advanced wireless technology. The use of the heavily advertised NPU or the AI functions remains somewhat unclear after the test. Even the missing 3.5mm jack and the missing memory card slot are definitely negative points. Overall, the overall package in comparison with the Apple iPhone X and the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, the Mate 10 Pro price is even moderate. Thus, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro is a strong competitor for the flagship smartphones from Apple and Samsung.

Netgear Aircard 800s (Optus 4G WiFi Modem AC800s) Released

You may know the Netgear Aircard 810s, which had been available since the beginning of 2017. And now the more advanced Netgear Nighthawk M1 MR1100 is also available in the market. They are hot 4G mobile routers for LTE network, especially LTE advanced network. Today, we would like to recommend a new 4G pocket WiFi – Netgear Aircard 800s.

The Netgear Aircard 800s is firstly introduced to Australian network provider Optus and named it Optus 4G Wi-Fi Modem (Cat 9) AC800S. From the name, we get to know it’s a product that’s in the lower level than Netgear 810S. Since Netgear Aircard 810s supports LTE category 11, the Optus 4G WiFi Modem AC800S supports only LTE category 9. So it can’t compare to Nighthawk M1, which supports LTE-A pro networks.

Appearance

Following the classical design of the Netgear 4G Aircards, the AC800S 4G WiFi modem also has a 2.4” QVGA capacitive LCD touchscreen, where users can conveniently monitor your data usage, and manage device and network settings. For advanced features and remote management, you’ll have access to a free NETGEAR mobile app.

Two connectors for external 3G/4G LTE Antennas are at the bottom side of the Aircard 800s. They are covered by two caps, slip to see the connectors and cover. The Optus logo is located at the lower edge of the front. A home and back button on the screen for operation.

The battery of the Optus 4G WiFi modem 800s is removable and the capacity is 2930mAh, which is the same as Aircard 810s. Netgear remains the Jump Boost feature on the new Aircard 800s like Netgear AC810S, which means users can charge their smartphones or other small USB devices while the WiFi modem works. The powerful battery lasts up to 11 hours of continuous use. Simply plug it into the hotspot's jump boost cable and start boosting from the touchscreen or the hotspot web page.

Technical Specifications

Optus 4G Wi-Fi Modem (Cat 9) AC800S features support for Category 9 LTE and 3-band Carrier Aggregation, with the ability to achieve theoretical download speeds of 450 Mbps. Since the LTE develops to Advanced or Advanced Pro, the typical product Aircard 810s supports LTE Cat11 with download speed to 600Mbps and the latest one Nighthawk M1 supports even 1Gbps for download. However, the Optus AC800S is enough for most cases in daily use. With Qualcomm MDM9240, the Optus 4G WiFi modem could support LTE FDD Band 1, 3, 7, 28, 40. It can support up to 15 wireless devices to access internet simultaneously.

Netgear AC800S also increases network performance and reduce interference with 802.11ac and Dual-Band WiFi band (2.4 GHz/5 GHz). Like its predecessors, the AC800S is small size with dimensions of 110 (L) x 68 (W) x 16.1 (H) mm. User can easily take it in pocket or handbag for outdoor activities.

From the appearance the specifications, we can conclude the Optus 4G WiFi modem is a good 4G Pocket WiFi, even though it’s not configured with the most advanced technology. But for most users, it’s enough for daily use. It keeps the typical design and practical features of the Netgear 4G Aircards. We would take further test about the performance for data rates in near future.

Huawei E5186s-22a 4G LTE Cat6 WiFi Router

The Huawei E5186s-22a router is a 4G LTE category 6 router available from Huawei, replacing the popular predecessor LTE CPE B593s-22. As a large Chinese company that offers high quality network equipment, Huawei wireless routers has gain great reputation worldwide, and they also supply smartphones in very good quality too.

The Huawei E5186 4G wireless router was really the top model for making a broadband connection at home at least last year. Firstly, it has the latest 4G standard with the support of the frequencies in Europe (LTE FDD 800/900/1800/2100/2600MHz TDD 2300/2600Mhz) and especially the 4G+ LTE CAT6. This means you can use the Huawei E5186s-22a with any network providers in all the European countries. Of course, if the network is compatible, you can also use the Huawei E5186s-22a in most of the Asian and African countries, including Middle East areas.

You can also attach an external 4G antenna to the Huawei E5186s-22a router because it has 2 SMA jacks. We had tested two external antennas (Indoor & Outdoor) for Huawei E5186 router to recommend for users who may need them: Huawei E5186S-22a Indoor LTE antenna: http://www.4gltemall.com/4g-antenna-two-sma-connector.html 4G LTE Indoor Antenna (2 x SMA Connectors) for Huawei/ZTE 4G LTE Routers/Gateway/LTE CPE

This E5186 router also allows you to have the latest WIFI standard, and in particular to be compatible dual band 2.4GHz and 5Ghz, the latest 802 ac is also supported.

It allows you to use an analog phone to make and receive calls from the inserted SIM card. This is crucial because operators are reluctant to use the SIM card only as a modem! It has a multilingual interface that you manage from your computer to configure your network quickly and easily (DHCP, VOIP, Firewall, consumption management etc), and it is also compatible with the mobile application Huawei Mobile WiFi for a configuration via smartphone.

You can share your 2G/3G/4G/4G+ connection in WiFi (WiFi support maximum up to 32 devices) or Ethernet (4 RJ45 sockets). In the package, there is an Ethernet cable, a user manual and an electrical adapter. Huawei E5186 router has an on/off button which is easy to turn it off when you do not use it. Likewise, a WPS button (to connect wifi easily) is to enable/disable WiFi.

With the LTE advanced technologies, this Huawei E5186s-22a is currently not at high price comparing with the latest Huawei B618S-22d LTE router, which supports more advanced LTE technologies. Huawei E5186 4G Router is now in a really budget price, which will have good price and higher performance for faster surfing speed at home or office.

Huawei Nova 2 Smartphone Test

Huawei launched the Huawei Nova Smartphone in 2016, and to meet the customers’ demand, the new successor - Huawei Nova 2 - is now available in 2017. Huawei Nova 2 comes with a dual camera on the back and a 20 megapixel selfie camera, and the design has been slightly changed. The compact design and the 5-inch display have remained.

The body of the Huawei Nova 2 is 142.2 millimeters long, 68.9 millimeters wide and 6.9 millimeters thick. It is almost entirely made of metal, weighs about 143 grams and is available in black, gold and blue. The black version made a very high-quality impression in the test, the case is very good in the hand due to the rounded edges. The workmanship is impeccable; the Nova 2 has a very high quality. Positive: the enclosed case made of transparent plastic (rubber). The two camera lenses on the back are slightly out of the case, but that does not bother. On the bottom there is a USB Type C connector and a 3.5mm jack, also you will find below the speaker and a microphone. The SIM card is inserted in the Nova 2 on the side, a small tool for removing the SIM card slide is included. Incidentally, the Nova 2 is dual-SIM capable, so you can use two Nano-SIM cards as needed. You can also use one of the slots to insert a MicroSD memory card.

Good display and fast software

The screen of the Huawei Nova 2 is 5 inches tall and has a Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels, 443 PPI). Colors are reproduced vigorously and the display is very bright if desired, so that even in sunlight everything is still easy to read. For the software, Huawei has decided for Android in version 7 with the EMUI 5.1 user interface, which adds some important features in addition to a special design. The main memory is 4 GB, and the internal user memory is 64 GB. The processor used is a Octa-Core HiSilicon Kirin 659 with 4x 2.36 GHz and 4x 1.7 GHz. The battery of the Huawei Nova 2 is about 2,950 mAh strong and has held out a full day of normal use in the test. For users who only use WhatsApp occasionally and do not use the device that much, there are certainly two days left before the device needs to be charged again.

Huawei Nova 2: camera with zoom
For the camera, Huawei has significantly upgraded compared to the first Nova. On the back there is now a dual camera with two sensors: one for wide-angle photos and one for telephoto photos. Means: with one camera you have a very wide image and can capture many elements at the same time, with the other camera, it has a zoom and a much smaller image detail. The resolution is 12 or 8 megapixels in 4: 3 format. The picture quality was very neat in the test. Huawei has many different image modes installed, especially with the portrait mode can take beautiful pictures. What unfortunately noticed negatively: the built-in camera LED on the back is quite dark compared to many other current smartphones. The front camera is especially heavily advertised on the Nova 2 ("Selfie Star"), because Huawei has installed a 20 megapixel sensor here - something that is not normally the case with other smartphones. The picture quality is good, especially compared to other, similarly expensive midrange smartphones.

Weaknesses in the WLAN

The Huawei Nova 2 can reach speeds of up to 300 Mbps in the downlink via the LTE mobile network, which corresponds to Category 6 LTE Advanced (LTE Cat6) and is currently standard on mid-range smartphones. Reception and voice quality were neat in the test, there was no reason to complain. However, the Nova 2 supports WLAN only in the frequency range around 2.4 GHz, the 5 GHz WLAN and the fast WLAN ac are not supported. Huawei Nova 2: Conclusion Huawei Nova 2 is a worthy successor to the Huawei Nova from the year 2016. The case has been significantly improved, which fits perfectly in the hand and thus leaves the Nova 2 ever a positive impression with the potential buyer in any case. The camera has an interesting concept with the two different focal lengths and especially the very high-resolution selfie camera should convince many. Otherwise you get the usual standard equipment for a mid-range smartphone, with a slight weakness in the WLAN.

Overall, Huawei Nova 2 is highly recommended, but there is tough competition in the price range: the Samsung Galaxy A 2017 series with the Galaxy A3 2017 and the Galaxy A5 2017, the Honor 8, the Honor 9 and the Xiaomi Mi 6 are just some of the competitors.

Huawei E5885 Mobile WiFi Pro2 Test

As a successor of the popular Huawei E5770 LTE hotspot, the Huawei E5885 Mobile WiFi Pro2 is now presented to market. The Huawei E5885 comes with a fast LTE Cat6 modem for speeds up to 300 Mbps in the downlink and up to 50 Mbps in the uplink. Compared to its predecessor, the battery has been increased again, it now offers a capacity of 6,400 mAh. Compared to other mobile hotspots, the integrated RJ45 Ethernet port is certainly the most important unique selling proposition. This review will highlight the strengths and weaknesses of the Huawei E5885 Mobile WiFi Pro2 for and pinpoint whether it is worth buying.

Before we take a close look at the technical data, we can see the model of the device: black Huawei E5885Ls-93a (this is the exact model name for the European version). Connected to the hotspot is a small hand strap, which is also a USB to micro USB cable. Furthermore, it comes with a power supply with an output of 5V/2A and the corresponding USB to Micro-USB cable to charge the device.   In addition, Huawei E5885 comes with a small adapter from Micro-USB to USB Type C, so that even modern smartphones can easily charge with the power bank function of the Huawei E5885. Finally, you will find in the packaging a printed warranty notice and a multilingual quick start guide.

Huawei E5885: technology

In my test, I used the Huawei E5885 in black color, the material on the front and on the back is reminiscent of synthetic leather and feels quite high quality. The back of the Huawei E5885 can be removed for insertion of the SIM card and optionally a MicroSD memory card. You need a MicroSIM card, but if you use it carefully, you can also use Nano-SIM cards with an adapter on MicroSIM.

The battery is not changeable. On the back are important information about the device, including the WLAN name and various passwords. All ports are hidden under a cover on the side of the Huawei E5885. There you will find a micro-USB port for charging the device, a full-size USB port for using the Powerbank function and a RJ45 Ethernet LAN connection.

On the front there is a small monochrome display, which shows the most important information about the Internet connection and the device itself, such as the signal strength, the battery level and the number of connected WLAN devices. If you press the power button, which is located on the side of the E5885, you can display the WLAN password in plain text. There is also a WPS button on the side of the hotspot and an NFC antenna on the front for easy Wi-Fi connection without the hassle of entering the password.

Compared to other mobile LTE hotspots like the Huawei E5787 or the Netgear AirCard 810, the Huawei E5885's display is very small. In addition, the information displayed is often difficult to read due to strong reflections of the cover.

The configuration of the Huawei Mobile WiFi Pro2 E5885 must be done either via the browser Web Interface or the Huawei HiLink App, which is available for iOS and Android. Both the smartphone app and the web interface are easy to use and available in various languages. Much more detailed setting options are available via the web interface clearly, but the app is completely sufficient for everyday use; the most important functions such as SMS, memory card access or configuration of the WLAN extender are also available via the app.

Huawei E5885: Details about the WLAN

The maximum of 32 devices can be supplied with an internet connection at the same time. Both the frequency range around 2.4 GHz and the 5 GHz is supported, the maximum speed on my Apple MacBook Pro was just below 600 Mbit/s. That's enough to use the maximum modem speed of theoretically 300 MBit/s on the laptop. Of course, the WLAN range depends on various factors, in my test I was able to receive the WLAN signal in the 2.4 GHz band but also over 10m distance and through two walls and surf the Internet fluently. For some users certainly a negative point: there is no way to completely disable the WLAN. Even if only USB or LAN is used for Internet access, the WLAN is active.

Huawei E5885: wireless extender

The WLAN Extender feature has become very important to many users. This feature allows you to use an existing Wi-Fi network as Internet access. This can save data volume on the SIM card. Fortunately, the Huawei E5885 also has a WLAN extender function, which tested perfectly and was very easy to set up. The maximum number of possible WLAN devices is reduced to 31 when using the Extender function. It was noticeable that the speed was limited to about 15 megabits per second - even if the original wireless has made much higher speeds possible. For daily use, the speed of 15 Mbit/s is probably sufficient for most of the users.

Huawei E5885: No Gigabit Ethernet

The RJ45 Ethernet LAN port on the Huawei E5885 side can be used to provide Internet access to a wired device such as a desktop PC. In the test, this worked fine. There is also the option of using the LAN port as an Internet access instead of the cellular modem. This also worked perfectly smoothly in the test, the LAN connection was recognized immediately and the Internet access was established. Unfortunately, the RJ45 Ethernet port supports only 100Mbps connections - Gigabit LAN is not supported. This is annoying, because thus the full modem speed over LAN is not usable.

Huawei E5885: LTE Speedtest

In the test, Huawei Mobile WiFi Pro2 E5885 used SIM card from Vodafone. The reception was quite good at LTE band 3 and 20. Positive: even in regions with a very weak LTE signal, you could still surf fluently, even if downloads lasted much longer. Compared to a Netgear AirCard 810 hotspot, it was noticeable that the uplink speeds were often slightly slower than those of the competing device - but all in all, the data rates of the E5885 were good.   Theoretically, the modem allows speeds of up to 300 MBit/s in the downlink and 50 MBit/s in the uplink via LTE, in the test at least about 200/45 Mbit/s were measurable. In most cases, the speed is well below the maximum possible, since the LTE radio cells are now well utilized. Of course, the Huawei E5885 also supports 3G and 2G as a backup and if desired, you can also specify the network technology in the web interface manually (4G only, 3G only, etc.).

Unfortunately, the Huawei E5885 has no external antenna connections, which is quite unusual, because most other mobile hotspots have these connections. If you want to use the Huawei E5885 abroad, you should pay attention to the supported frequency bands. The Huawei E5885Ls-93a (European version) is perfectly suited for use in Europe, partly also in North America and Asia is possible. For non-European travel, however, it is best to first clarify which frequency bands are relevant in the destination country.

Huawei E5885: battery and power bank function

The battery of the Huawei E5885 has a capacity of 6,400 mAh. That should be the largest battery of a mobile LTE hotspot currently. In my review, I was able to achieve a useful life of about 20 hours with continuous use of the hotspot feature. Of course, it takes a long time to charge the battery - the device had to charge about 5 hours with the included 5V / 2A power supply. The Power Bank function to charge other devices worked perfectly in the test. Pleasing is the high output power of 5V/2A, so that current smartphones can be charged quite quickly.

Huawei E5885: test conclusion

After about two weeks of testing, I can recommend the Huawei E5885 to anyone looking for a hotspot with a fast LTE modem, a strong battery, and an Ethernet LAN port. The device worked perfectly in the test and provided a stable and fast internet connection at all times. Another positive feature was the fast and easy-to-use web interface and the WLAN Extender function. The powerbank function is also helpful and is very well complemented by the included accessories.

However, the Huawei Mobile Wi-Fi Pro2 E5885 hotspot also has weak points, as the test has shown. There are no connections for an external LTE antenna and even when using the Ethernet connection there is no possibility to completely switch off the WLAN module. With the 100 MBit/s connections, it is incomprehensible why Huawei has not installed a Gigabit Ethernet connection, only about one third of the maximum LTE modem speed can be used over LAN. Even the very small display is quite a weak point.

Despite the mentioned weaknesses, the Huawei E5885 is a very good device, the bottom line is the price-performance ratio. Of course, there are alternatives: if you do not need a LTE Cat6 or 5 GHz WLAN, you can confidently use the predecessor Huawei E5770.

External Antenna

If you want to have the best possible reception especially if you are very far from the cell tower, you can connect an external antenna to this E5180 router. The ideal antenna is obviously an outdoor LTE antenna, which has two connectors and when installing the antenna, make sure it pointing to the 4G cell tower, the cable entering your roof and going down into the room. We had one tested outdoor external LTE antenna, which can work well with the Huawei E5180 to get much better signal and surfing speed.

Conclusion

The Huawei E5180 4G router does the job perfectly. Capturing much better 4G than a mobile phone, it allows you to replace a box at the ASDL. The download speed on LTE reachs 150Mbps and upload speed to 50mbps. And the price of Huawei E5180 is not expensive since it’s available for long time in the market.  Even though there are many 4G routers in the market, the functions of Huawei E5180 are enough for most cases.
